I. THE SENTENCE

A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete
thought. Every simple sentence must have two basic elements:
(1) the thing we are talking about (called the subject)
(2) and what we say about it (called the predicate)
In other words, the subject of a sentence tells whom or what the
sentence is about, and the predicate of a sentence tells what the
subject is or does.

The subject of a sentence is expressed by a noun, a pronoun or a
