This paper examines the procedures and strategies in translating English-Vietnamese subtitles of ten most popular films on the website kst.net.vn – one of the leading website on subtitled films on the internet. The theoretical framework in this study is adopted from translation theories by Newmark (1995) and Baker (1992). Visible translation errors along with suggestions for correction are also discussed in the findings. The completion of this paper provides a useful reference for people interested in translation studies and sheds light on one of the aspects of subtitle translation
