Reading, of four skills in learning a foreign language, is used more often in the students’ work, especially reading English for specific purposes. For students of Accounting Department at Hanoi Vocational Training College for Electro-Mechanics, reading ESP has been paid more attention as the students have to read English materials related to their own specialist subject. However, they have encountered a lot of difficulties in reading and, therefore, failed to be efficient readers. The researcher found that there are many factors that affect the teaching and learning process of the teachers and students at college such as teaching methods and classroom techniques, inappropriate attitude of the teachers and learners towards the subjects, unsuitable teaching materials, etc. This study aims at investigating the difficulties in reading English for Finance of the second year students of Accounting Department at Hanoi Vocational Training College for Electro-Mechanics. The results of the study has shown that the second year students often have difficulties with vocabulary, grammar, reading skills and cultural background knowledge when learning reading English for Finance. This study has also given some suggestions to reduce their reading difficulties and Giúp the students improve their ESP reading skills
