2. Point, ask and answer:
- Model sentence:

Ask students to open their Student’s Book on P66. Get them to read the context sentence above the pics and identify the characters in the pics. Set the context: Mai and Tony are in the library. They are looking for some story books. You are going to hear them talking about these books.
- Ask sts to listen and repeat the new words (x3)
- Call some sts to read aloud
- Read each dialogue, make sure that they can understand
- Ask sts listen and repeat dialogues, divide class into 2 groups.
- Draw sts’ attention to the pic next to the example in this section and say: Imagine you are reading this book. Let’s practice talking abt the character in this book. Get sts to read the example and elicit their promts to complete the speech bubbles. .
- Get sts to repeat the prompts under each pic a few times and make sure they understand them.
- Write the question and answer on the board and get Sts to repeat them a few times.
- Model the task with the whole class. Point to Pic a and ask: What’s Thanh Giong like? Class: He’s brave and patriotic. Call on some open pairs to repeat the step with the rest of the pics.
- Ask sts to practice in pairs.

- Ask sts to open their book on P67 and get them to read the title and look at the pic. Ask them to guess what the passage is about. Then set the context: You are going to read a passage and do the tasks that follow. Pre-teach some key words. Reading the passage, focus on the sentences in Task a.
- Read the passage twice, then ask them do the task individually, then check it
b. Write short answers.
- Discuss with sts the qs in Task b. Write short answers. Elicit their answers. Then set time and let sts work in pairs. Monitor the activity.
- Ask a few sts to read their answers to the class. Discuss with the class the way how to come to the answer.
- Get Sts to open their St’s Book on P68 and ask them to read the task and the Guide as a writing frame. Say the writing purpose: You are going to write about your favourite book. Point to the incomplete passage and say: You should read and complete the passage abt your favorite book with support from the Guide.
- Do an example with the class. Write the writing frome on the board and elicit sts’ answers to complete the passage, using the prompts supplied by sts.
- Individual work. Sts write down on blanks
- Call out some sts to read their writing to the class.

Set the context: You are going to hear Zack, Mai and Mei Mei talking about Teachers’ Day in some countries. Elicit sts’ answers: Who is this? What are they talking about? Point to each pic, read the text and check sts’ comprehension.
- Listen and repeat the new words (x3)
- Call some sts to read aloud
- Read each exchange in the pics, stop at times to check sts’ comprehension.
- Make sure that the sts can understand the situation and language in each pic. Playing the recording twice, once for all through and once for repeat.
- Call some sts to read aloud in front of class.
- Draw sts’ attention to the world map and the date chart in this section. Point to the world map and ask sts to read the name of the countries in focus. Then say: You are going to practice asking and answering qs abt the dates of Teachers’ Day in some countries.
- Ask sts to read example and elicit their prompts to complete the speech bubbles. Write the lines on the board. Get sts to repeat the question and answer a few times. Point to each pic to recall the vocabulary.

- Play the recording twice.
- Replay the recording to check. Get them to correct their answers in pairs. Ask Sts to report the answers to the class, if there is disagreement on any answer, play the tape related to the part again.
