1 -Với tính từ:
a) Trùng chủ ngữ:

b) Khác chủ ngữ:

- Nếu muốn diễn tả sự việc trong quá khứ, ta dùng had to
Ví dụ: I had to study last night.
* Chúng ta cần lưu ý là have to, has to , had to được sử dụng như một động từ thường nên khi
đồi sang thể nghi vấn (Interrogative) hoặc thể phủ đònh (Negative) ta mượn trợ động từ “to
do”.
+ MUST + V: Cũng giống như have to, must diễn tả ý cần phải làm gì. Must nhấn mạnh vào
sự bắt buộc, tầm quan trọng của sự việc hoặc không còn sự lựa chọn nào khác. Must là một
trong những động từ đặc biệt.
