The study was carried out with an aim to use the case study activity, an activity in the text book Market Leader to encourage 2nd year students of Business Administration to speak English. The research was conducted with four main foci: (i) students’ degree of participation in the case-study activity; (ii) factors encouraging students to speak in the case study activity; (iii) factors inhibiting students to speak in the case study activity; (iv) students’ desires. Using classroom observations and questionnaires as the main data collection instruments on 40 second year students of Business Administration from K11A class, the findings indicated that case-study activity had the beneficial impact on students, and a framework for discussing factors affecting student’s participation in the case study activities were developed. More importantly, the research gave suggestions of pedagogical implications with the hope they can maximize the learner’s involvement in the oral activities
