This research study was conducted in an attempt to find out some principles of designing British literature material for English major students at Ba Ria Vung Tau University. By using quantitative method together with observation and informal discussion, the study began with an investigation into relevant literature to form the essential background for the study. Next, the findings from the situational analysis and need analysis done on 125 English major students and four teachers will be based to draw some important principles for designing material for British literature which will be displayed in the last chapter. A sample of material for British literature has also been introduced which serves as a reference for teachers who wish to build material for the subject. It is expected that the study will Giúp to solve the problems of lacking material at Foreign Language Department, Ba Ria Vung Tau University and that it will benefit those who are interested in the field of material design
