 be : là , thì ; ở
 Khi đưa vào câu động từ to be không giữ nguyên hình thức mà đổi thành :
am , is , are theo qui tắc sau :
I am = I’m
He is = He’s
She is = She’s
It is = It’s
You are = You’re
We are = We’re
They are = They’re
Chủ ngữ số ít + is
Chủ ngữ số nhiều + are
2. Plural nouns : ( Danh từ số nhiều )
 Danh từ số nhiều là danh từ chỉ từ hai người hay hai vật trở lên. Khi đó sau
danh từ ta phải thêm “ s ”
a student : Một học sinh
