This minor thesis is designed to investigate into metaphors in banks’ slogans. There are many approaches to metaphors; however, in this paper, the major theoretical basis bases on Lakoff and Johnson’s theory. Twenty banks’ slogans are selected from newspapers, websites, etc. These slogans are classified into types and sub-types of metaphors. When the classification is done, the study conducts a synthetic analysis on three samples. From this stage, two more specific questions are realized, regarding the frequent use of metaphor types and sub-types of metaphors. Finally, all the findings and discussion on the marketers/advertisers’ frequent choice of metaphor types in banks’ slogans have been given
