This Action Research was carried out to investigate the effectiveness of developing vocabulary for 10th form English major students at BHSHS through teaching prefixes, suffixes, word roots and the morphemic analysis techniques and explore their attitudes towards this vocabulary learning program after the 9-week trial period. In order to collect data for the research, a pre-task questionnaire, a post-task questionnaire, a pre-test and a post-test were employed. After a preliminary investigation via the pre-task questionnaire, a vocabulary learning program was designed and then implemented in the first semester of the school year 2012-2013 with the participation of 34 tenth form English-major students at BHSHS, Ha Nam. The results from the post-task questionnaire, the tests showed that there had been great improvement in the students’ vocabulary knowledge after they took part in the program and that the students expressed positive attitudes towards this program and their intention to continue to use this vocabulary learning strategy afterwards
