English is a very important subject in school today. To learn it well depends on many factors. They are personal characteristics of the learners, chances to communicate with native speakers, or motivation of learners, methods of teachers….For students at school, these factors can only work well with the Giúp of the teachers using different methods in language teaching. With the new teaching method, CLT, students have more opportunities to practise English through many different classroom activities. Among them group work seems to be the most appropriate application. In an attempt to improve the effects of group work activities in teaching and learning English at Luu Nhan Chu High School, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen Province, the research aimed to find out : What are the difficulties in organizing group work at LNC high school? How is group work organized in an English class at Luu Nhan Chu high school? How do the students participate in group work? What are attitudes of the students at Luu Nhan Chu high school towards the application of group work in teaching and learning English? How to organize group work in English class more effectively to improve fours skills to students at Luu Nhan Chu high school? To find out the answers to these questions, a research was conducted by collecting data through class observation, and analyzing the questionnaire data. Some evaluation will be drawn and some suggestions for the future use of these activities will be made
