The interrelationship between language and culture results in the fact that cultural knowledge plays a very important role in the cross-cultural communication process. Therefore, the awareness of three important cross-cultural dimensions – Subjectivity – Objectivity, Directness – Indirectness, Accuracy – Inaccuracy will Giúp students use English more appropriately. The thesis focuses on the influence of these categorical dimensions on learning English at Thanh Hoa Medical College through the two questionnaires. Some implications for the learning and teaching of English as a foreign language will be enclosed with the hope that they will contribute to raising the cultural awareness of students in order to enhance communicative competence
