INTERNSHIP REPORT
1. Overview of the internship
Time of the internship: 7 weeks (09/12/2013 to 25/01/2014)
The internship takes place from February 17
th
to April 6
th
, 2014. It is the third phase of
the whole internship course for the year 2013 – 2014, for students from course 33 of
School of Foreign Languages, Thai Nguyen University. This is a valuable opportunity for
me to practice my English knowledge, communication skill, experience and soft skills
from the reality.
Major internship tasks: Translating, arranging contracts and documents,
participating in drafting the short contracts.
Description of the internship place
Ba Dinh Anh Joint Stock Company is a company which builds houses and trades
construction materials. The company is located in No.15, Lane 6, Doi Nhan Street, Vinh
Phuc ward, Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi City, Vietnam. The company was established in
2011 and so far the scale of the company is continuously developing.
There are some of the company's main business activities which are shown in following

a balance sheet and profit and loss account by managing the salary and finance.
- The Marketing Department:
The Marketing department has responsibility in advertising and persuading customers
to choose the company's services. They have to produce advertising campaigns by
gathering information from different source.
The Human Resource Department:
The role of human resource department is admitting, training, and the dismissal of
employees and workers in the company. Besides, it can contribute to the company by
bring out the best in the employee.
Working Environment
Ba Dinh Anh Joint Stock Company has been considered to be a good working and
developing for a long time. The employees not only have many opportunities to
cultivate their knowledge and experience in wholesaling construction materials and
building houses field, but also can be accessed to many modern equipments and
professional environment. There are close connections between departments to create
the unity and the harmonious co-ordination in the process of working. The company

3. Personal development
During the internship period at the company, I had gotten many interesting and
meaningful lessons from my works and my colleagues who worked around and gave
me some useful helps. I not only had many chances to improve my knowledge and
experiences in wholesaling construction materials and building houses field, but also
could be accessed to many modern equipments and professional environment. All the
knowledge, skills and experiences which I got during working at the company are very
useful for my job in the future. Because of lacking experiences, I met with many
difficulties. However, I had overcome those challenges and gained good results.
This experience had helped me to improve my professional writing skill. I am becoming
familiar with structures, grammar in writing and how to effectively enrich my
translate specialty vocabulary skills.
- Meeting some foreign customers and introduce and explain the company’s
services if necessary. It is useful for me to improve and practice English speaking
skill and more confident.
- Arrange different business documents and put them in the order: Normally, it is
not easy to classify types of business document. This task helps me realize and
distinguish them in wrong orders.
In the fourth week:
- Translate the company’s scale map and show the relationships between them: It
was practiced as a translating skill, in which I can realize some function
vocabularies and relationships between them.
- Help some foreign customers understand the content in the placards’ company.
Sometime, exchange views of the company with foreign partners: In this task,
my difficulty is vocabulary source. Therefore, it is a good idea for me to convey
some concepts or something by using gestures and imitation skills. It is also
useful in the communication. It helps the listener understand rightly.
In almost week of the internship:
- Translate some short contracts: It is a more difficult task. It requires suitable
and exact using of vocabulary, grammatical structure. I had learnt many
complex structures and specialty vocabularies.
- Translate some longer and more complex bills, contracts: I had many
experiences from gathering information and translating specialty vocabularies.
They are the different signs to recognize them and how to use good a structure
to express a complex sentence.
4. Suggestions
There is a long distance from the theory to the practice. It was the reason for my
nervous and worried feeling. In the first week, we faced many difficulties. However,
when working in a friendly and professional environment, I was in tune for tasks
quickly. The enthusiastic help and whole-hearted instruction of the guides made me
feel more confident and more active in the work. In addition, colleagues were my
