Kevin came from Japan to America seven years ago. At first he missed every thing:
the sunshine, the food, his girlfriend, but now he has a successful business with his three
brothers. They run a soccer store in New York. Kevin’s girlfriend is now his wife, and
they have two children who go to American schools.
When asked why he came to the US, Kevin says: “Because I want to work hard and be
successful”. He certainly works hard. He’s at the store all day then works as a driver in
the evening. “That’s why I like America”, he says, “You can be what you want”.
“When I first came here, I didn’t speak the language, and it was winter. It was so cold.
