Vietnamese rocker and songwriter Tran Lap, leader of the country’s most famous
rock band, died of cancer on march 17th 2016 after a four-month battle with cancer.
Tran Lap, whose full name is Tran Quyen Lap, was born on December 12th 1974
in Nam Dinh Provice. He began his artistic cancer with performances at the


Department of Theatar, Hanoi College of Art from 1993 to 1997. He graduated from
the Department of Economics, Hanoi National University in 2001.
In 1995, Tran Lap and some of the group from its founding until it disbanded in
2006. He wrote more than 30songs, especially the song “Road to Glory” . The group
developed a large number of fans in Vietnam. Tran Lap is the one who turned Buc
Tuong from a student rock group into Vietnam’s most successful rock band. He was
also one of the four judges of the program “Gian hat Viet’’ on VTV3.
