Overpopulation has become a familiar issue for almost everybody in the world, and a serious problem as
well. The most pressing problem created is perhaps the increasing demand for food, while the area of the earth can
never be expanded for more cultivable land. Along with the shortage of food, there are also the problems of
decreasing supply of water, fewer job opportunities, insufficient houses, schools, and health care. Rather, as the
rapid growth of world population continues, the whole world will face the problems of natural resources being used
up at an increasing speed, which, in turn, can only bring about ever serious threat to mankind. Another problem
caused by overpopulation is the rise in unemployment. Perhaps you think we can build more factories so that more
people can get jobs or we can adopt strong measures of retirement. However, these cannot the problem thoroughly
because of many factors. The best solution to the problem is to exercise birth control. Only by this means can
population growth be checked and related problems be solved.
