Plus
™
is a revolutionary new subscriber carrier platform that enables the cost-effective
deployment of multiple voice and data services over single or dual pair DSL transport
technology. The PG-Flex
Plus
system is comprised of a central office terminal shelf, 4 or 6 line
PG-Plus® NIDs, a 24/48 line PG-Flex® Remote Enclosure and an optional Universal Access
Platform (UAP) GR-303 concentrator shelf. This system can be used in a variety of applications
that will enable more efficient use of network facilities including:
• Copper pair relief in the feeder and distribution network
• POTS and data service extensions over unconditioned pairs
• Support for future growth including HDSL2 transport and ADSL G.Lite service

can provide incremental network capacity. PG-Flex RTs can be placed at existing copper fed cross
connect cabinets to provide 24/48 lines to the F1 side of the box. This incremental addition of capacity will

be achieved further into the network. Integrated PG-Flex
Plus
Line Units are also being developed that can be
retrofitted into standard T1 repeater housing mechanics.
Relief To The F1 Network
Facility Relief provided to Cross
Connect by creating 24 new F1
cable pairs from two. Typical
installations will include 24 to 48
additional new lines.This additional
capacity may provide two or more
years of network capacity.
Relief To The F2 Plant
Each PG-Flex
Plus
access shelf placed
in a RT cabinet will provide up to
192 lines. This new capacity will
allow the cross connect box and F2
cable to have an extended life.
