Of the total surface of the Earth, 75 percent is covered by water ; however, only a
small portion can be used for human needs. Only about three percent of the water
on the Earth is fresh water, whereas 97 percent is saltwater. And , although three
percent is fresh , three- quarters of that is ice. Less than one percent of the Earth’s
water is available for human use.
Water is the only substance necessary to all life. Many organisms can live
without oxygen; however, none can survive without water. The human body itself
is 78 percent water.Water is very important to all life. We don’t waste it, save
natural resources.
