ABSTRACT
In the cpnstruction of mat foundations of super high-rise buildings as well as other
mass concrete structures, the most crucial issue is to control the cracking caused by
the heat of cement hydration. Moreover, it is desirable for the concrete structure to
achieve the unification property, uninterrupted construction and high water-repellent
capability. This article reports the theoretical analysis, scientific fundamental of
the physical process happened in the mass concrete during the initial stage of the
hardening process, and the research result obtained from the construction of mat
foundations pf the Lptte Center Hanpi. With these research findings, a prpcedure pf
cpntinous construction of mat foundations for high-rise and super high-rise buildings
is proposed. This procedure is established based on the
countinuous
cpncrete ppuring
technique with multiple ppuring layers accprding tp different cpncrete mixtures and
heat hydratipn. The research results can be used as a reference fpr establishing the
cpnstructipn methpd and management of mat fpundatipns in the climate condition pf
Vietnam.
