1. Reasons to choose the topic
Poverty is one of the pressing socio-economic issues that many countries around
the world are facing.
In Vietnam, the Party and the State have been soon aware of the risk of poverty
and invested much effort and money to implement the poverty reduction program

stable and there are still many challenges.

Nghe An is one of the poor provinces. Recently, Nghe An provincial government
has achieved many achievements in leadership of socio-economic development in the
locality, people's lives have been gradually improved both physically and spiritually.
However, the results of poverty reduction are not sustainable, with high risk of re-poverty
(about 10%), concentrated in the mountainous areas of Nghe An province.

2.1. Research purpose: The thesis aims to propose views and solutions to improve
the role of provincial government in sustainable poverty reduction in mountainous areas
of Nghe An province in the coming time.
