Lesson 4: Read
I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
Read and understand the text about the problems of people from the countryside
moving to the city.
They will also be able to complete the summary.

IV. Procedure:
1. Warm up (7 minutes)
Teacher Students
- Ask Ps some questions:
+ over crowding (n) = strain (n)
+ urban (n)
+ migrant (n)
- Practice in chorus.
- Practice individually.
- Write down.
- Play the game in two teams.
- Listen to the tape then answer the
guiding question: They move to the city so
that they can get well-paid jobs.
3. While reading (18 minutes)
- Have Ps look at the text and read it.
- Have Ss read the text.
- Have Ss works in groups to find out the
missing words in the paragraph using the
word in the text.
- Ask them to give the answers.
- Remark and give the feedback.

Read the text again and write the answer to the question: If you were a Minister, what

2. Pre writing (10 minutes)
- Have Ps look at the text book and read the
out line then compare with the one in Unit 5
again then have them put the out line in
order.
- Have Ps work in groups of four students to
write a letter by answering the questions
below:
? Where do you live?
? What does your house look like?
? What can you see from your bedroom
window?
? How far is it from your house to school?
? How do you get to school?
? What kinds of facilities are there in your
neighborhood?
? What thing in your neighborhood do you
like best? Why?
- Look at the book.
- Read the outline of the letter.
1. Put the outline for an informal letter in the
correct order

- Work in four groups to prepare for writing
by answering the questions on the draft.
