This study aims at developing ESP supplementary reading exercises for the second-year students at the Faculty of Nursing, Phu Tho Medical College (PTMC) with the hope of improving students’ reading skill. It is based on a survey research that involves a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to obtain its objectives. The subjects of the study are second-year students of nursing taking ESP subject in the academic year of 2011-2012 and 6 ESP teachers of PTMC. The data are collected from various sources: coursebook evaluation, class observation and the survey questionnaires. The result of the study shows that it is necessary to develop ESP supplementary reading exercises for second-year students of nursing at PTMC which can meet both teachers and students’ needs
