I. Ngữ pháp :
1. Tính từ và Trạng từ :
1.1 Tính từ (adj) :
a. Khái niệm :
- là 1 từ hay 1 cụm từ bổ nghĩa cho 1 danh từ hay đại từ
- Tính từ không có số nhiều trừ Tính từ chỉ định : This / That
b. Vị trí :
- Tính từ bổ nghĩa cho N và đứng trước N
- Tính từ đứng sau động từ “tobe” và các động từ liên kết : become , get , feel , look , seem , sound , smell
grow , taste , appear……
- Có thể đứng sau các đại từ bất định : something , everything , someone , nothing…
Vd : I have something interesting to tell you
c. Cấu trúc liên quan :
* S + tobe + adj + to + V(inf)
* S + tobe + adj + that + mệnh đề
1.2 Trạng từ ( adv ) :
a. Khái niệm và cách dùng :
- là cụm từ bổ nghĩa cho động từ thường , tính từ hay 1 trạng từ khác
b. Cách thành lập trạng từ :
- Thông thường ta chỉ việc thêm đuôi LY vào đằng sau tính từ
- Tính từ tận cùng là Y , trước Y là 1 phụ âm : đổi Y thành I rồi thêm LY
- Tính từ tận cùng là : BLE hay PLE : ta chỉ việc thay E bằng Y
* Chú ý :
- Một số Adj và Adv có dạng giống nhau : hard , fast , early , late ,
1.3 Dạng viết lại câu liên quan đến adj và adv :
S + V(chia ) + adv…….
S + tobe + a/an + adj + N
( Chú ý : V + er / or / ist = N )
2. Câu điều kiện :

- Trường hợp 2 :
Câu cho sẵn :……………because + N + tobe + adj
Câu viết lại : …………….because of + the + adj + N
- Trường hợp 3 : ( Chỉ được rút gọn khi hai S giống nhau )
Câu cho sẵn : …………….because + S + V + O…
Câu viết lại : ………… because of + V(ing) + O

6. Mệnh đề chỉ nhượng bộ :
- Gồm : though , although , eventhough
- Mệnh đề chỉ nhượng bộ có thể được rút gọn thành cụm từ chỉ nhượng với : despite , in spite of
* Các trường hợp được rút gọn :
- Trường hợp 1 :
Câu cho sẵn : ………….though + ĐTNX + tobe + adj
Câu viết lại : ………….Despite + TTSH + N …………………
- Trường hợp 2 :
Câu cho sẵn : ………….though + N + tobe + adj
Câu viết lại : ………….despite + the + adj + N
- Trường hợp 3 :
Câu cho sẵn : …………though + S + V + O
Câu viết lại : ………… despite + V(ing) + O
7. Mệnh đề chỉ mục đích :
- sothat + Mệnh đề : để mà
- in order to / so as to + V(inf)
