I. Gerund
1. Làm chủ từ:

II. Present Participle
1. Trong các thì Hiện tại tiếp diễn hoặc Quá khứ tiếp diễn
Ex: He is reading books in the library at the moment.
2. Sau các động từ chỉ tri giác: see, watch, hear, catch, find,
smell, notice,
Ex: They watch the birds flying in the sky.
3. Trong các trường hợp rút gọn mệnh đề thành nhóm từ.
Ex: -The girl standing (who is standing) behind the counter
looks very lovely.
- Staying (She stayed) in the bed, she was thinking of her
childhood.
- They went to Noi Bai airport, picking up (they picked up)
their relative.
B. Perfect Gerund and Perfect Participle (having + V3/ed)
