PART A: INTRODUCTION
I. REASONS FOR CHOOSING THE RESEACH
Textbooks developed under the new program have partly met the
need to use English in modern society. But along with that, there is quite a
large amount of knowledge, so it has caused many difficulties with
teaching and learning in all high schools all over the country in general and
even more difficult with a suburban school like Nguyen Mong Tuan High
School. Thanh Hoa, where students' learning conditions are still difficult
and unconscious. In fact, only a few students who are quite active in
receiving lessons and giving opinions to build lessons, most of them just
obediently listen and copy. Sometimes, there are some students expressing
boredom and tiredness while sitting in a foreign language, with a time of
only 45 minutes for a lesson, the topic is very new and strange, making
students easily discouraged.
II. AIMS OF THE STUDY
We always concern with the question of how to get an effective and
lively teaching time, which is interesting for students, making them
develop their active and creative role in comprehending knowledge with a
dry vocabulary. With the successful application of using pictures in
teaching grade 10 English, educational innovation in the 2017-2018 school
year has inspired me to continue applying with grade 11 because of the
reality in the program of the grade level. This is similar to the Grade 10
program. For example, lesson 10, grade 11 program: "Nature in danger",
using pictures of Cat Ba National Park will help students show their
writing. The description of Cat Ba is easier and more vivid. Or it can be
said that the pictures that helped a boring lesson can become an interesting
trip. Difficult reading, speaking and listening tasks can become fun and
rewarding games. Students find themselves more vivid about the world
thanks to the topics being learned in textbooks. They will see that the book
is so precious, so rewarding, making them want to learn and find it
necessary to learn for themselves.
PART B: DEVELOPMENT
1. Theoretical basis
In teaching, the acquisition of information has three basic forms:
listening, seeing and feeling. The combination of these three forms plus
information processing will generate three basic learning styles: the
viewing space, the hearing and the sense of touch of the body. The learner
of the style looks at the new information through visualizing the whole
concept and in their imaginary thinking are spatial images.
In learning and awareness of learners, sound has a very important
role. It helps learners acquire spoken language from teachers and
discussion of other students. Sound can create a "highlight" to help learners
relax and absorb knowledge more effectively. Music can enhance visual
function, help stabilize heart rate, reduce stress and restore nerves, relieve
excitement ...
In the lesson, if the teacher uses a piece of music while the students
are stressed, they can make them more excited and absorb the lesson better.
Especially in video clips that can play the rhythm with the process, the
progress of the scenes will make viewers more interested. In addition to the
cages, you can put real sound like: the sound of animals, the engine's
explosion, the murmur of flowing water. These real sounds will make it
easier for learners to feel the reality, thereby making them remember longer
The world of information contains many images, charts and graphs.
Vivid images, music symbols will affect people's psychology and emotions
and create a fundamental atmosphere for life.
The system of spoken or written language symbols is being
intertwined, making the coding system more and more abundant. Each
symbol system serves as a vehicle for concepts, and is a means for us to
communicate to learners. When considering the image as part of the
teaching process, consider the purpose of creating a useful image. The five
image goals include: decorative images, symbolic images, images of
This advantage is especially important for students who are new to using
images, and students who do not receive their interests. Third, video clips
help learners improve the skills of identifying audiovisual images instead
of the events that teachers offer. The video clip images created create the
relationship between teachers and learners, causing excitement for learners.
The video clip provides a social context for learners, it can be used
with sound so that learners can hear voices or change sounds, create a good
conversation. The video clip will be less effective if we provide stately and
non-intuitive information; when surveying information or introducing
knowledge logic not backed up with real evidence. Video clips survey
information both listening and looking. Therefore these two types must
work in harmony to achieve the most effective. Excessive loud sounds and
narration of dramatic images and excessive use of frames or slides can
reduce educational announcements.
Video clips can be considered as educational tools for all students,
it can bring positive effects for each individual student, attracting their
attention. Visual learners will help to process information and receive
knowledge more effectively. With the power of sound and words, video
clips are very beneficial for learners in the form of listening. In addition,
the description video clip illustrates the sequence of images and expresses
real actions in an emotional way, so it will bring good effect to the learners.

In addition, in the language lesson, video clips also play a role in projecting
and reinforcing the language aspects for learners such as grammar,
vocabulary or language functions.
The selection of effective video clips is an important part of
integrating media into the practice and implementation of the role of
multimedia in the classroom. So when selecting a video clip we have to
remember longer and apply it to the real situation.
But the difficulty is that the source of video clips is not available,
the teachers are forced to search through the tapes or download from the

internet, the video clips are suitable for the lesson content and need to be
suitable both in time time because each lesson cannot last more than 45
minutes. So it requires teachers to use flexible and clever handling so that
the video clips bring information to the students just enough, not excess,
right time but not rampant.
2.Real situations
For basic 11th grade English program at high school , we have tried
to find video clips that are suitable to the topic of each unit, especially the
difficult points because they are new to students. Vietnam in general and
more and more new to students in the suburbs
The topics we selected in the video clips include:
11th grade English program:
1. Friendship.
2. A fire.
3. A birthday party and an anniversary party.
4. Voluteer work.
5. Some popular competitions in Vietnam.
6. Lunar new year.
7. Over population
7. Nature in danger.
8. Cat ba national park.
9. Sources of energy.
10. Space conquest.
11. The wonderful of the world.

- We use it to attract students' attention, to stimulate curiosity, to brainstorm

I. CONCLUSION
After 3 years of using video clips to compose lessons in the 11th grade
English program for innovation - the basic program, we and our colleagues
are well aware of the important supporting role of video clips with
Teacher's teaching as well as the acquisition of students' linguistic
knowledge.
We find that when using clips illustrating, leading, supplementing
knowledge, ... make students excited and attract more students. Besides, we
also encountered some difficulties in finding and selecting the appropriate
source of material takes a lot of time. Therefore, I would like my
colleagues to comment and have additional resources for this 11th disc set
so that we can improve it better.
We hope to be able to replicate this set of video clips for teachers and
many students to have better teaching and learning resources in English,
helping them to be more confident while using English. in life as well as in
work because good English will give them good job opportunities in the
future.
II. SUGGESTION
1-Advantages:
Through the years of teaching the new textbook program, I found:
-The text in the textbook is composed according to each major topic
clearly, close to daily life. The content system is developed in a spiral way
to help students expand their knowledge of the world around them,
provided giving them knowledge and experience in several areas, of
cultural, social, scientific and economic life, to help them master the
language.
