2) In your opinion, what is the most important characteristic (for example honesty,
intelligence, a sense of humor) that a person can have to be successful in life? Use
reasons and examples to explain from your experience to explain your answer. When
you write your answer you are not limited to the examples listed in the question.
What we call life is a very complex affair; it’s not simply eating, reproducing and
finally dying. Man exists in life not merely as biological entities like other creatures but he
has to lead a highly complicated life. He is required more or, to say he must lead a life of
success. Being a success! Yes, that is what man all dreams of, he wants to succeed in school,
in his jobs, in his relationships. Briefly to say, he wishes to succeed in life. So, in order to do
so, he has to develop certain qualities.
At first, he must set an aim in life, as the saying goes “an aimless man is like a boat without
a rudder, drifting at random along the stream.” Therefore, the very first thing he needs to do is
to clarify what he would like to be, never lets other define him and or tell him what he can’t
,just be himself . As Oprah Winfrey said:” Nobody had any clue that my life could be
anything but working in some factory or a cotton field in Mississippi, nobody, for her entire
life, people have been telling her what she can’t do, but she has kept her mind from them.
Rather, she says, she listens to her own instincts. “Gut is what got me where I am today “she
said. To make an accurate definition what you want to be and who you are, is the crux of the
problem. Your goal must be based on your own adjustment and be pursued with passion.
Pursue the work you love will pave the way for you to do it to the best of your ability
Otherwise, you’re just travelling through the world wildly- and there’s no point in that. Once,
having decided, you must work for attaining certain standards in that line with the firmly
belief that you will make it
Still another quality is not to argue, that’s perseverance. Indeed, life is not a bed of roses, but
life is struggle in which you may be met with failure, if you let yourself defeated by it, what
you expect will turn away from you. Instead, you should bounce back from disappointment and
found yourself stamina to persist with the goals and keep going on and on… Perseverance is
the key to success. Mario Lemieux, Helen Keller, Abraham Lincoln, Marie Curie and an
endless list of other great achievers found that success inevitably arrives for everyone who
and prepare your 100% there to grasp it with an open mind, willingness to cope to any
unexpected incident, positive attitude and beliefs; you might be amazed at the goals and
dreams that are made available to you.
Another point that appeals to consideration is that “Are honesty and integrity- two
cornerstones to true success?” as Joseph Sugarman has well said” Each time you are honest
and conduct yourself with honesty, a success force will drive you toward greater success.
Each time you lie, even with a little white lie, there are many strong forces pushing you
toward failure”. Yes, integrity and honesty is a magic answer to the call for success. But how
to be honest and with whom should you be? First you should be open and honest about
yourself addressing your strengths and weaknesses, don’t take bitter at your breach and insist
on filling it; instead, find help for this area that will enable you to focus on strengths. Or to
say, to be honest about yourself and your business creates growth as an individual and as a
company; it’s also the path to mastery and success. To be honest with your partners will
nourish long-term business, it’s undeniable, but, is it always the best policy? What if someday
when asked about the secret strategy for your achievements, you give a truly honest response,
don’t you think you may catch your partner red-handed unfairly stealing your commissions
someday in the future? You might be surprised and disgusted by some of the true horror
stories of successful distributors who have been unfairly robbed by unethical or unscrupulous
companies. Sadly enough, it’s nothing unusual. Another important area that can be given
insights into is a concept of “integrity factor” is the temptation to corner or shade the truth to
avoid the relationship breakup. In case one is asked for opinion about the boss’s pet project at
a staff meeting. Should you be honest “To call a spade a spade” to your boss? .No, that is the
last thing you should do, instead, you’d better “sandwich” your criticism by pleading the need
to look at the issue more closely and then offering the candid thoughts in private would be an
alternative that fulfills a professional responsibility and maintains a respectful relationship.. In
short, Honesty at work, as elsewhere, is the best policy. But tact and judgment are needed to
prevent the truth from hurting others--or yourself.
How about intelligence? Is intelligence an ideal formula for workplace success?
When mention intelligence, we tend to think about “inert intelligence” (IQ), the ability
to memorize things quickly. That does not necessarily lead to goal-directed action or
.
