The purpose of this paper is to design an ESP nursing syllabus for the first year students at Haiphong Medical College. The first part of the study presents the introduction. In the second part, the literature review on ESP and designing an ESP syllabus are shown. The researcher conducted three questionnaires to find out the students’ needs, the English teachers and special subject teachers’ opinion for the course. Then the data was analyzed to identify the aims, objectives and components of the proposal syllabus. From the findings, the researcher has designed an ESP nursing syllabus for the first year students. And in the last part, the author also reveals some limitations and gives some suggestions for further studies after summarizing the main points of the thesis
