This study was conducted to design an ESP syllabus for the second-year nursing students at Tuyen Quang Medical Vocational School. The data were collected from questionnaires with the students, subject teachers, graduates, and interviews with the ESP teachers. After analyzing the target needs and learning needs as perceived by the participants to identify the target students’ needs, an integrated ESP syllabus which combines theme-based syllabus with others was designed. The syllabus consists of objectives, content items of topics (core nursing tasks), career skills, language skills, learning tasks and grammatical items. It is hoped that the proposed syllabus will meet the target students’ needs as well as the training objectives of TQMVS and will make some contributions to the improvement of ESP teaching and learning at the school
