… Talking about the fire last month, I still feel very frightened.
Luckily , We narrowly escaped death when the fire broke out. At
that time Dad and I were going to take the main escalator of the
building . I saw many people rushing from all directions toward
the escalator, and the black smoke swiftly filled part of the
department store . Also I heard a mixture of noise : running
steps, shouts, cries, screams, sound from burning things.
Fortunately we reached the ground floor via the fire exit . When
getting out of the building I saw many people jumping down
from the top terrace. There were such great losses of lives and
damage indeed.
The building is now under reconstruction . Whenever I pass
by it, I still feel sorry for the victims. And now I feel Dad and I
were lucky enough to escape serious fire in time.
