INVERSION (o ng)
Trong tiếng Anh, một số trạng từ có thể đợc đặt ở đầu câu, đòi hỏi sự nghịch đảo của động từ ( sử dụng dạng câu hỏi
của động từ chính) với dụng ý nhấn mạnh. Việc đó gọi là sự đảo ngữ.
1. Hardly/ scarcely : hiếm khi, hầu nh không
Eg: He hardly went out Hardly did he went out.
Eg : We scarcely go to the cinema. Scarcely ever do we go to the cinema.
Hardly had the train left the station since the explosion happened.
Scarcely had I entered the room when the phone rang.
2. Seldom/ rarely : hiếm khi, ít khi
I have seldom seen better roses than these. Seldom have I seen roses than these
Rarely have I visited my parents since they moved to New York.
3. Never :
Never before had I been asked to accept a bribe.
Never have I heard a better song.
4. No sooner . than : Ngay khi thì
No sooner had she opened the door than the thief fled.
No sooner had I reached the door than I realized it was locked.
5. Only then/ later/ once: Chỉ sau đó

6. Only by + Ving / Only in this way : Chỉ bằng cách
