Năm bảo vệ: 2013 Abstract. Khái quát những tiền đề của việc điều chỉnh quan hệ đối ngoại của Ấn Độ
với Đông Á từ sau khi Chiến tranh lạnh kết thúc như: mối liên hệ lịch sử, văn hoá và
an ninh của Ấn Độ với Đông Á; quan hệ của Ấn Độ với Đông Á giai đoạn 1947-1991;
bối cảnh quốc tế và khu vực sau Chiến tranh lạnh cũng như nhu cầu phát triển và đảm
bảo an ninh của Ấn Độ trong bối cảnh mới. Khái quát về chính sách đối ngoại của Ấn
Độ giai đoạn 1947-1991 và các điều chỉnh chủ yếu của nó sau Chiến tranh lạnh; trình
bày một cách hệ thống và những nét cơ bản về các giai đoạn, nội dung, mục tiêu cũng
như hướng tiếp cận của Chính sách hướng Đông của Ấn Độ; tập trung vào quan hệ
của Ấn Độ với ba chủ thể chính của Đông Á là Đông Nam Á (ASEAN), Trung Quốc
và Nhật Bản giai đoạn 1991-2012 trên các mặt: chính trị - an ninh, kinh tế, thương mại
- đầu tư và một số lĩnh vực khác. Ngoài ra, còn đề cập đến quan hệ Ấn Độ – Việt Nam
trong tổng quan Chính sách hướng Đông của Ấn Độ. Đưa ra những nhận xét và đánh
giá chung về quan hệ của Ấn Độ với Đông Á từ năm 1991 đến nay: các thành tựu –
hạn chế, đặc điểm, thuận lợi - khó khăn cùng xu hướng, triển vọng của mối quan hệ
này.
